Gray Area Stories is a survivor-led podcast hosted by survivors Erica M. Hart and Johanna Middleton, which seeks to center the stories and healing journeys of survivors of r*pe and sexual assault.

Johanna Middleton is a storyteller and storytelling spacemaker.

She is the creator of Girlie Stories, which provides a platform for women and girls to empower themselves via personal storytelling through gatherings, workshops, and productions.

Johanna has performed her original pieces as a storyteller with KPPC’s Unheard LA, Rogue Machine’s Rant and Rave, and can be seen in Netflix’s Dear White People.

Erica M. Hart is a documentary director and video editor.

She is the director of the short documentary Gray Area, that follows her calm conversation with a man who sexually assaulted her.

Erica is passionate about feminism, storytelling, and conversations between humans that serve to reduce shame and stigma. In her spare time she volunteers to clean up the loose shards each time a glass ceiling is shattered.
